Situated on the shores of Lake Superior, Duluth is nationally ranked as one of the best and most affordable places to live in America. Duluth is home to 87,000 residents and when coupled with our Northland neighbors, the total area population is well over 180,000. The city's harbor welcomes over 1,000 ocean-going and Great Lakes freighters each year, and our major industries include health care, education, aviation, technology, and tourism. We are home to the College of St. Scholastica, the University of Minnesota Duluth, Lake Superior Community College, Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College and across the bay, the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Duluth is a place that offers something for everyone – our lively downtown business scene gives our residents and visitors cosmopolitan access to day and nighttime activities, not to mention Duluth’s natural landscape. It provides countless outdoor activities: hiking, biking, kayaking, and fishing to name a few.
